Oh that pizza was good but man I'm having this sensation here and I think I might actually
have gastric reflux. Commonly that is referred to as heartburn but gastric reflux isn't just
limited to classic heartburn. I'm Dr. Savage. I'm an osteopathic family practice physician
in Tampa and I'm going to describe the other symptoms associated with gastric reflux. Other
things that you may experience is a hoarseness from the acid actually coming from the stomach,
through the chest, up the esophagus and into the throat which can either cause a tickling
in the back of the throat, it can irritate the voice box which will cause the hoarseness
and can also cause a dry cough oddly enough. Who thought that you could fix a cough with
taking a antacid? With that said if you are having any of these symptoms I recommend that
you seek medical attention because it would be advantageous to discuss with your doctor
potentially more harmful conditions and also to discuss the appropriate medication to take.
I'm Dr. Savage and I hope this has been helpful. I wish you the best of health.
