the david package ideally taxes dot com welcome to the show or live on youtube
monday through thursday two p_m_ eastern eleven a and pacific welcomed everybody
watching
from the i'd love it when i wake up in the morning of rock obama is president
face book page of course as well as the we survive bush you'll survive obama
face book page
uh... debate number twos tonight will be doing instead analysis after the debate
a lot of uh... questions about will brock obama's debate performance be
better that it was in the first debate will it be the same will it be worse i
guess those are kind of the three options i'm hoping would be like
yet what we what would that be like we don't know i'm hoping that uh... you
know what i'm hoping for those of course i'm hoping that we see a bronco borrow
more rep reminiscent of joe biden's performance in the vice presidential
debate but we'll see what happens
let's talk about the controversies that are brewing here
candy crowley from c_n_n_ is in the moderator tonight
it turns out
both campaigns
are particularly thrilled ripped understatements candy crowley has made
the reason according to time magazine's mark halperin is that crowley
is at crowley park rowly i don't know how to go but she goes by
on ever hurt is cruelly i've got a little bit more standard that's the case
in any case
uh... candy crowley is trying complaints according to mark alfred because she
publicly said
she wants to play someone an active role in the debate instead of just letting
the audience that is a townhall debate but it is letting the audience ask all
the questions
i have to tell you
understand will get to the memorandum of understanding that exist there
i think that jim lehrer in in the first presidential debate was not very good
i think that martha raddatz indeed vice presidential debate
was actually quite good in in trying to get some specificity from the candidate
of what's your take louis on what what should the moderator be doing and
certainly the role is somewhat different if it's a roundtable debate
or if it's a town hall
depends on the situation with these presidential debates a ridiculous they
go on and on and they know uh... date dodged questions they pay that
they uh... phase shifts they just state talking points when even when questions
are very specific
uh... sole moderator should have
i think a moderator should have complete control and be able to students stop
them
be able to re-ask questions to ask more specific and follow-up questions
and uh...
on the arms of departed i think the moderator should be in control
so let's look before we get some more thoughts on this at the statement that
candy crowley made
but she said that she would she did an interview with the huffington post and
she said a couple of different things she said
i think does so having a posted so you see your ultimate role as being there to
facilitate their conversation with each other and candy crowley said i think
that's one of the roles the expectations are enormous from people my inbox is
filled with questions you're going to disappoint people so i think the idea is
try to add to the body of knowledge that is out there in whatever way you can't
i think it's best when these guys engage with each other but that doesn't mean i
want to get to them if that gets closer
to what we need
uh... it i think she's right spot on there
what's your sense of bearing in mind
townhall means
the audience ask questions
how fair is it
for for about candy crowley to be editorializing on those questions are
expanding
you know i think that
the moderators role in this debate should just be to make sure that the
candidates answer the questions that are being asked by people and if it's
necessary ask a fall questions so i think that that you don't have to be
partisans who do they really have to do is take a look at the answers and so you
know you have and really answered this and be clear on that
