Hi, I am Yuri Vital, the director of the architecture office. I majored in Architecture at the Instituto Presbiteriano Mackenzie.
Soon after I have founded the architecture office, since I noticed I was ready to start something different.
Then I decided to carry out my first project. My first project was called (BoxHouse), an award-winning project which is nowadays on exhibition.
I was able to follow all the steps, from the croquis to the final rendering. I have even got my hands dirty during building construction oversight.
I may say that I have carried out this project completely by myself. It is nowadays the flagship product of our office and it also serves for marketing issues.
There are three words that may synthesize the main aim of our office: the economy, simplicity and functionality, which are also some features of the modern architecture.
I think that simplicity is the best way to succeed in doing something.
However, it is rather hard to join simplicity and creativity.
But when you succeed in doing so, you create, at the same time, a complete and, I would say, timeless architectural project.
The modern architecture has some influence on our work, along with the appearance of the architecture from the Sao Paulo State.
These might be, in my opinion, two important elements/moments for the establishment of our office.
I have always kept in mind that our office would never be a big company. We have always preferred it with the features of a studio.
Why? Because I think that I need to review all the projects in order to provide my own contribution to the development.
Our idea is not based on quantity, but quality.
In my point of view, discussing architecture is more important than writing projects and then start drawing.
That is the reason, in our office, we always take into account all the ideas from our staff.
It is impossible to make a perfect project by thinking of every detail by yourself, since there will always be one problem or another.
I think that these problems might be solved by taking into account the opinion of our staff.
It is also important to think carefully about the questions, doubts and qualities provided by our staff during project development.
This is, in my opinion, an important point that should be discussed and focused on.
This dark-colored, simple, and genius panel is, in fact, our blackboard.
I saw its usage in some offices from prestigious architects I have some appreciation for.
It has the list of our projects, the deadlines, all those sorts of things. Then it becomes a universal, huge (post it).
