How to Wear Your Graduation Hood

Hi, I'm Joe from the Registrar's office at Suffolk University and today I'm gonna show you how to put on your graduation hood. So, when you start begin by taking everything out of the package. The sheet that's on the top, if you have any questions after the video you can always refer to this because they do have step by step instructions on how to put your hood on. So, let's begin. To start simply just unfold it like so, so the tail hangs down the bottom. And then, what you're going to do is we'll have our graduate student Althena come over and be our model for this. So you start off by having it straight like this, next just simply open it up, and you want to just place it over the head of the student like so and what we're doing is this gold part right here, this is very important, you want to make sure this is as even as possible and that the blue and gold is showing. So once that's all done this portion is finished. Now please know that the black tail at the bottom, that's always going to be there, it should never be put all the way through showing the blue and gold. So keep the black tail hanging out as so. And other than that thats how to put a hood on, and the next step is just to go ahead and walk across the stage and receive your diploma. Congratulations!
