We can easily edit the complex roof as one element.
We can modify only one part that will affect the whole roof.
We will see some basic examples in the floor-plan view.
Let’s select the roof, click the contour, ridge, or one of the corner points and use
the available pet palette commands.
For example we can even drag a horizontal ridge,
move a corner node,
or offset an edge.
All these changes will affect all the related planes of the complex roof.
We can change the offset of the eaves overhang on the entire roof in one step.
To do this let’s open the roof settings dialog.
Let’s extend the “Multi-plane geometry” tab page and enter 1000 millimeter for “eaves overhang offset”.
Let’s click OK to accept all changes and leave this dialog.
We can modify the resolution of the curved edge in the complex roof.
After selecting a roof with a curved edge, let’s open again the settings dialog and
enter 5 to the “Curve resolution by arc” and click OK.
We can easily offset all edges of the selected roof eaves on the floor plan using the corresponding
pet palette command.
All these editing functions are also available in the 3D window.
To change the angle of the multi-plane complex roof we just open the settings dialog
to define a new value for the angle and click OK.
We can also easily change the material of the complex roof.
Using a complex roof we can simply handle in one element the entire complex roof as
we don’t need to select the individual roof planes one by one to do the same changes.
