in the Pirate Party we have always stood up against site blocking it's ineffective and it's wholly disproportionate it certainly shouldn't be a tool of culture policy i've always warned that we hand censorship powers to governments and courts at our peril. For some months now we in the pirate party have been running proxy for the pirate bay this is a legitimate service for legitimate political end. But now this is under threat. I have received a email from the BPI the music industry body here in the united kingdom asking us to remove the proxy this is not something that I or the party can agree to. I have also received an email threatening legal action this is a serious threat. We're going to need your support at this difficult time, and we're also going to need money we will need money to be able to fight this and we need to be able to fight this well.
