Let's move to the mystery surrounding Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
I hear the Malaysian government just wrapped up a news conference.
That's right, Ji-hae. Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein
said... that background checks on all but three of the 2-hundred-thirty-nine people
on board have produced no "information of significance."
But investigators still believe the plane was deliberately diverted... either north
towards Central Asia or towards the Indian Ocean.
And after 12 days, search operations now covers an area of 2-point-two-4 million square nautical
miles... which is roughly the size of the continental United States.
"A much better search opportunity today with a smaller area closer to Perth and or aircraft
and I hope we will do better tomorrow, where we expect to have perhaps four or five aircraft."
Meanwhile, patience is running thin for the families of the victims.
Some relatives of the Chinese passengers have threatened to go on hunger strikes unless
more information is provided by Malaysian authorities.
