There we are, in a Hyundai...
...not just any Hyundai, but the i30 Blue. Which has a very low mileage.
And there's a way for everyone to experience that.
We're going to do just that: Drive 30 miles as economically as possible.
Let's reset it.
It's called the Hyundai Blue Challenge...
...and they've asked us to do this because we're known for our economical driving.
You could cheat by just driving slowly on country-roads...
...but I'm just going to drive it in normal traffic.
But I'll stick to the speed limits, sort of...
...which is already quite special, just ask the police.
The car we're using for this challenge is the Hyundai i30 Blue...
...with a 1.4 petrol engine. On the one hand that's quite special...
...but on the other hand it shows that a petrol engine can also be economical.
It's got ISG; Integrated Start-Stop...
...so the engine turns itself off when you stop.
It's got 109 hp with an A-label so it's got a fairly low mileage.
How low? I'm going to tell you that now.
My current average is 40 mpg.
I was just doing 40 mpg, but now I'm doing 44 mpg.
It's lower cos we're now driving on small backroads.
Of course you're thinking; what now?
You can also take part in the challenge...
...and you can win not just one or two, but three prizes.
If you're the most economical of your dealer, you'll get 500 euros worth of fuel...
...you'll get the same for being the most economical driver from Autoblog...
...and if you're the most economical driver in The Netherlands...
...you'll get free petrol for five years. That's about 10 grands worth.
Nice prizes.
Ruben can't track me with the camera, normally I drive by a bit faster.
There are two ways to join in...
...sign up at hyundaiblue.nl...
...or go to the Hyundai-dealer and tell then you want to do the challenge.
And if you want to win at Autoblog and immortalize yourself...
...mail your results to tips@autoblog.nl with reference to the Hyundai Blue Challenge.
Mention your score, that you love us and that you'll never watch another car-website again...
...then you've got a chance to win.
And my score is...
...45 mpg!
Beat that!
