Hi. My name is Peter and I want to share with you how to stay focused and how to skyrocket
your productivity.
Some time ago I had a problem. Multitasking. I chose my task and started to work. Then,
email from boss, text message from girlfriend, snack, skype chat with friend, calendar reminder,
question from colleague and interesting news in radio. Not surprising I couldn’t focus
and my productivity was very low.
Then I found a solution. Timeboxing. Now I work focused on one thing in short timeboxed
periods. That’s it. It’s simple, easy to implement and very effective.
Here is 5 steps on how to really focus Choose a task you want to work on
Turn off all distractors (email notifications, skype etc.)
Setup timer for 30 minutes Work only on your task. If something distracts
you take a quick note and return to your task. When timer rings, stop working and take 5
minutes break.
Using this simple technique, in first two days I did all my tasks which normally would
take me 2 weeks. Timeboxing eliminates distractions and allows you to get focused. Frequent breaks
keeps your brain fresh. It also reduces procrastination and it’s fun to do!
