It was started in March 2010.
The objective is to address the issues of hunger
faced by the homeless and hardcore poor in the city.
You feel sad when you notice that some of them
just choose to curl up and sleep rather than face hunger.
Once a month HSBC gives the hygiene bags,
which consist of the shower gel, shampoo and a towel.
That's once a month.
Every Wednesday, HSBC gives breakfast items
which consist of the kaya bun, biscuits and a packet drink.
This is one of the ways that the bank can contribute back to the community
that we operate in.
Staff can also contribute and volunteer their time
and come and contribute to the society.
I actually didn't know how many homeless people we have.
I feel that I am very lucky, because I have anything that I need, I want,
but some people don't have a home.
They don't have enough food.
So, by joining this activity,
I think in future I will appreciate everything I get more.
I am giving the syrup to them.
When they eat they need something to drink.
So they can either choose hot water or cold water.
If you can't help in a big way, you can always help in a small way.
Some of them have a lot of problems in their life.
So you cannot solve those big problems for them,
but at least you can solve a meal problem for them.
On Monday night, we fed 690.
Tonight will be about 550 or a little bit more.
Actually, I think it means a lot to those homeless people.
It's touching to see all this,
to give them some faith that this society still cares about them.
I come for the PERTIWI van.
I get food, I get clothing and medical.
All is good.
My house doesn't have electricity. I only have candles.
We feel that we are happy that we get something from someone caring.
