Hi I am Mike service Manager at Weingartz in Ann Arbor. One of the most important things
in making sure that your engine lasts long time, and stays healthy is that you want to
make sure that your air filter is changed often.
Today, I would like to show you how to change your air filter in a GTX 2100 Cab Cadet Tractor
with a Kohler engine. At the top we have a low thump screw we don’t need any tools.
Just turns to the left, cover to the side and here you have a double filter cartridge,
you have a foam outer with a paper inner one.
It also has thumb screw at the top which unloosens the same way to the left, pops right out.
Some recommend that you oil this outer filter, I don’t recommend that because it is a double
system, the first air filter is just to catch the larger particulars in the air and then
the paper filter will catch any other smaller one’s there. If you oil it too much, it
might have the tendency of making the engine run rough and rich and you don’t want that.
You want to make sure that it’s either cleaned out, blow dried so that you don’t dirt on
the inner part of these air filter before you put it back.
For the filter, don’t use any tools for this because you don’t want it too tight.
Just wait till it snaps in there and turn it about half a turn, so insert the other
cover on top, line it up with a screw and tighten it up the same way. Changing your
air filter every year will keep your engine running long, clean and strong for years.
