Shalom, I'm Jackie. I'm from Darfur.
I am now in "Holot". Every Saturday I come here with Israeli, Eritrean and Sudanese friends to visit the guys that are imprisoned here in "Holot".
The goal of these visits is to understand from the detainees their conditions here,
to collect their testimonies, to hear about their problems, and what they are lacking.
You can see that the situation of the people here is not very good...
We often come to visit, to see the people, to support the people here in "Holot",
to help them keep their sanity, so that they will not feel alone, to show them that we are with them together all the time,
to give them a chance communicate with the outside world, to get updates from outside, to bring learning material, books,
and to teach some English and Hebrew lessons.
I would also like to invite every person who wishes to join us, to come with us to visit the people in Holot,
to make their lives a bit easier. The people usually stay in the rooms, they don’t come out,
but on Saturday when we come, people feel that they are not alone.
On the government part, I ask the government to visit the people here, and to check the individual cases,
and if someone is indeed a refugee, to give him his rights.
