Hello, and welcome to Awesomeology.
So when I started my little video blog here, I told myself one thing: that I was not going
to ditch it like I do with most of the personal projects that I start. But the thing with
vlogging is that I’m like
“You know, maybe I’ll just skip this one week….I need to go on youtube and watch
videos of belugas and mariachi bands.”
“Yeah, two weeks without a video won’t hurt, I mean I only have, like, 30 subscribers,
and I really need to go on Tumblr.”
I feel like there’s something I wanted to do….meh, probably not.
ANYWAY, you know, I totally did that on purpose, because now Awesomeology is newer and awesomer
than ever.
Today I’m going to talk to you about a very serious issue. I’m going to talk with you
about all of the people in your life who don’t know when to shut up, and so end up making
things super awkward for all involved. Maybe you are one of these people.
Maybe you are a conversation ender.
The urban dictionary defines a conversation ender as a word, phrase or emoticon that abruptly
and awkwardly ends a conversation between two or more people.
The urban dictionary has many wonderful things.
As a conversation ender, you might be compelled to say such awkward turtle things as:
“Hey, have you seen the new Catching Fire movie? I hear its really good.”
“Movies will be the fall of all humanity.”
“Ooo, your glasses are super cool, I have some just like that.”
“Oh, I actually hate them, my grandma got them for me.”
“I just got my nails done, what do you think of this color?”
“That’s so sexist! I hate color.”
“When I grow up, I want to be a movie star.” “Yeah, that’s not going to happen.”
“Look at this picture! It’s a baby narwhal with a tophat on!
“Narwhals aren’t real.”
If you are a conversation ender, it’s okay. You’re probably not a jerk. But here’s
the thing….small talk is hard work for just about everyone. I don’t particularly like
small talk. The person that you’re talking to probably doesn’t like small talk.
But since you’re there, having that conversation, give it some effort! Don’t make it an awkward
turtle magnet.
That’s all I’ve got for you today on Awesomeology. Hopefully you will be seeing more videos soon.
If you liked this video, like it and subscribe and share it with your conversation ending
friends. Maybe, just maybe, they’ll take the hint.
Leave your funniest conversation enders in the comments, if you can figure the comments
out, go follow awesomeology on tumblr, uhhhh, bye, I’m done, bye!
