Now we're going to count the stitches and rows in stockinette stitch.
Stockinette stitch is different on both sides so one side is smooth and it has visible vs
on it.
You can see there.
And then on the back it's bumpy.
So you can poke into the center of the V and that will help you keep track of where you
are.
And the stitches that you count.
So I'm going to come over to the edge and there's my edge stitch.
So it's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22,
23.
I have to stretch it out because it's curling.
24, 25, and 26 stitches.
And then to count rows, we're going to also look at Vs but we're going to look at them
vertically in a column and if I stretch it out, you can see the ladders inbetween.
So I'm going to do the same thing.
I'm going to go into the center of the stitch.
1 and then come up into the center of the next stitch, jumping over one ladder.
So 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23,
24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33.

So that's rows and stitches.
