Hey what's going on. Recently a customer Dan the man out of Arizona had a question about the KWIK TOOL
And I'm glad he asked because there is a newer version of the KWIK TOOL. This is the older style.
If you have some of the old tools and you want a new tool the manufacture has a program where you give them the old one you'll get a new one.
Now the older KWIK tool has a grove on the bottom of the tool and there is a slot on the bottom of the jack where you would slide
the Jack on and then terminate it and it is easy but the new tool has a new design to make it simpler for
installations so basically you go ahead and push the jack in there and then terminate it and that takes care of that.
Now lets go ahead and show you the Kwik jacks themselves we have a Cat3, Cat5e and Cat6 now the Jacks are all the same
so that way you only need one tool for each jack and I know about some other tools out there that make you change cutting heads
for different jacks because they are molded a bit differently but not with this jack another nice feature is the jacks have a peak
on the top here and that will make it easier for you to separate the pairs for example I have the Green, Orange, Blue and Brown
I'm gonna lace the orange pair in just a sec but another thing you'll notice about the Cat5e Kwik jack is it's color code for
568B and 568A and there's no split pairs and that's another nice feature when you have a ton of these to terminate on a
School job or a big commercial install it'll make it easier for you out there. Now as I said with the peaks it makes it easier
to separate the pairs when you install it so you want to come down and untangle the pair a little bit and push it in just like that
and BOOM your done. As I said it helps separate the conductors and make it easier for you. And then with the Kwik tool
go ahead and slide it in and then what this tool does is it terminates and cuts all the pairs at the same time. Give it a squeeze
and then pull your jack out and check that out! Clean, terminates it good, put it on that tester and it's a good jack the tool is a good labor saver.
and you can go wrong with it. The KWIK tool only works with the KWIK jacks not to sure about getting another jack in there
because the blade on the tool itself that cuts and terminates the pairs might not line up with other jacks.
