Rita Ora continues Jay Z feud with 'final goodbye to people who didn't believe me'
She was signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation but filed a lawsuit against them in 2015. She claimed she had been neglected and they had not released new material.
The label counter-sued before coming to a settlement. But Reets hasn’t forgotten and sings about it on the new LP’s opening track, Soul Survivor.
“It’s a nice final goodbye to everything and everyone who didn’t believe in me from the start.” Rita Ora She said: “It’s all based on what people stopped me from doing a few years ago to where I am now.
It’s almost like a rebirth of the new Rita. “It’s a nice final goodbye to everything and everyone who didn’t believe in me from the start.” Jay-Z’s ears must be burning and the rapper must regret not doing more for his ex-protégé.
Rita has since signed to Atlantic Records, enjoying a string of fresh hits. It was another household name who helped get her back on the horse, so to speak.
She explained: “I was speaking to Sam Smith the other day and he said to me, ‘You’ve got one of the best voices and I’m so happy for you’.
And it was nice to get that support from other artists you know — them saying that we know you are in a really good, confident musical groove.”.
The album might begin with the trauma of her legal dispute but it ends on a more positive note. Rita explained: “It tells a consistent story.
“I thought about it a lot and I just wanted people to feel like they were on a journey with me, so I’m really proud of it. “This album is really calm and it has really clear points.
There aren’t mixed messages, it just is what it is.” Rita’s new song For You, with Liam Payne, is out now. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take a Bow, Lady Gaga.
DAVID Bowie’s bandmates want Lady Gaga to make amends for her maligned Grammys tribute. Pianist Mike Garson is leading a series of Celebrating Bowie gigs around the world and would love Gaga as a special guest.
He told NME: “She has a great voice and is a great entertainer, she just went overboard and lost the magic at the Grammys.
“I’m hoping she’ll join us on a show somewhere and sing one or two songs.” --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lotties pasta best at 20.
IT was a family affair at Lottie Moss’s 20th birthday bash. The model was joined by sister Kate and her daughter Lila for an Italian meal at La Famiglia in London.
But Lottie revealed she can’t hold a tune like her big sis, laughing: “That does not run in my family I can tell you that now. “I’d love to be able to sing.
My karaoke song is Prince – Kiss.” Earlier Lottie went shopping with Made In Chelsea stars Georgia Toffolo and Emily Blackwell. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now its Ghost Malone.
WHO ya gonna call? Post Malone. It turns out the chart-topping American rapper has discovered a secret talent for communicating with the after-life while appearing on US show Ghost Adventures.
Host of the show Zak Bagans revealed he was impressed with Post’s ghost-hunting skills when he guest starred in a forthcoming episode. Zak told TMZ he was “an absolute pro” when they walked around a haunted slaughter house in Tuscon.
Well if rapping doesn’t work out for you Post.
POOR Paul Cattermole has urged fans to bid on his BRIT Award so he can buy a new toaster. The S Club 7 star is auctioning his 2000 Best Breakthrough Act statuette on eBay after his old toaster blew up.
He said: “I bought a toaster from a jumble sale for £1. I was in heaven for two weeks.
“Then with an almighty *** and a 2ft fire-flash it was over.” The auction has topped £900, so Paul can probably stretch to an industrial tub of peanut butter too. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Red-hot Louisas LP vow.
AFTER seven days of luxury in Bali, Louisa Johnson is heading home and straight to the studio. But not before posting a few last bikini snaps to her almost 1million followers.
The Best Behaviour songstress promises that we will finally have an album this year – after “finding” herself.
Louisa told me: “Now I’ve kind of found who I am, who I want to be, what I want to wear and just in general I understand it a bit more, everything is a bit more me and I’m really excited to get it out.
“There will be a lot coming.” You better pack away that red bikini then, Louisa. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sultry Perrie dont give a.
FESTIVE excess can only be remedied by a health spa date and Little Mix are no different. Perrie Edwards shared a few moody black and white pool side snaps with the caption “Zero f***s given”.
Now that’s a New Year’s resolution I can get on board with.
GIGI Hadid revealed some of her friends are missing following the devastating mudslides in California. She said: “Some of my friends and their families have been taken to the hospital and some haven’t been found. I can’t believe this.”.
