The economical thought at Caritas in veritate

THE CHARITY IN THE TRUTH
The Caritas in veritate is a very
particular social encyclical,
because it has the courage
to use the words
“charity” and “truth”
do not belong to the normal lexicon,
which do not belong to
the words we say easily.
Precisely, sometimes we use
the word charity
defusing it in it’s meaning,
making it like a synomym
of occasional handout,
but certainly we are a little afraid
to use the word truth,
because the word truth is very challenging.
Nevertheless this encyclical has
this aspect is clearly new,
it doesn't speak directly about
practical things,
about what we should do,
doesn't make the list of the auspices,
it puts us in front of a statement
really provocative and that is:
the development of the entire person,
the integral human development,
is something related with
this two big words:
charity and truth.
Charity is a word which the Pope
has thought us to use it in its fullness
in the first encyclical he wrote,
The Deus Caritas Est,
and in this new encyclical Caritas in veritate,
it makes us doing the next step.
It makes us seeing the tight connection
which there is between the charity,
that means love, and the truth,
which are experiences we
could live in everyday life,
which are experiences everyone need
to grow and every child needs
to know to be loved and know that
what they are telling to him
is not a lie,
is not a falsehood, it’s the truth,
so the memory of the charity
and the truth are fundamental
of every integral human development
puts this encyclical in front of
the necessity that we start
to learn to use once again
this essential words,
charity and truth,
one needs the other,
the charity in the truth.
