Buen dia
So I’m here at Lutsen Resort where I’m in training
To be a front desk receptionist
And where I now live
Let me explain
My family lives in Hovland, Minnesota
which is over an hour’s drive from here
And I realized it would be cheaper for me
To stay here in staff housing than to pay for all that gas
I also hit a deer and destroyed my car the other day
So good timing
So I moved in yesterday and here I am
There is a lot of lovely people who live here
And who work here
You can tell by the balloons in here
They throw parties for each other
So I’m really happy to be here
Okay, I am really excited about today’s song
Because this is something that I wrote
almost a year ago, lost it, thought I would never find it again
And I just found it yesterday
This is a Kat Axtell original called “Ivy”
When I hit rock bottom I was crushed by my own weight
I lay there on the floor trying hard to be brave
But when I finally looked up through my tear-blurred eyes
I saw your triangle leaves gleaming proud
in the sunlight
Tell me ivy
How'd you get to the top of the wall?
Did you use the stairs?
Are you afraid to fall?
Tell me ivy
How to reach the top of the roof?
Did you cling onto a songbird as it flew to its roost?
Tell me ivy
Can I join you?
Before I hit rock bottom
I was thinkin I could fall no further down
Down
Til I found myself down here below you
Wonderin how to get up off the ground
So ivy, I implore you can you show me how
You got from here at my rock bottom
To where you're now?
Tell me ivy
How'd you get to the top of the wall?
Did you use the stairs?
Are you afraid to fall?
Tell me ivy
How to reach the top of the roof?
Did you cling onto a songbird as it flew to its roost?
Tell me ivy
Can I join you?
Tell me ivy
Can I join you?
Can I join you?
Stay tuned to next week
Is that how you do it?
No, forg-
I’m sorry, goodbye
