Hi, I'm 8A (17) Lam Pak Yin, and in this presentation
I'm going to introduce my game design project, called the Biology Basics: The Space Race.
This game is mainly about biology knowledge for grades 9 and 10.
An astronaut is lost in the cosmos during a space mission, and in less than five minutes,
as the player of the game,
you are required to guide the astronaut back to where he came from.
In this game you can control the astronaut to move left or right by pressing the left / right arrow keys.
You can also control the astronaut to jump by pressing the shift button.
Press SPACE so that the astronaut can launch a bullet towards the monster snipers.
You have to reach the Planet of Victory to win.
Along the way when the astronaut reaches the Question Object,
a multiple-choice question will pop up. You just have to click the suitable answer
with the left key of the mouse.
This is the scoring scheme. If you have a correct answer, then marks will be added, and vice versa.
There are also coins throughout the game. If the astronaut touches a gold coin, then one mark will be added.
If the astronaut touches a special coin, then 2 marks will be added.
In each level, the astronaut will also have three lives. If the astronaut leaves the
cosmos, which is the play area, then one life will be deducted. If the astronaut is eaten by a sniper, or if
you have no more lives, or if the timer counts down to zero, then it will be GAME
OVER and you have to start again from level 1.
Here are five of the scenes in my game. So the one on the upper left is basically the
first thing you will see when you open the application if you press the "Let's Roll!"
button, then it'll automatically go to the level 1 interface. And here is also a
list of the objects that you'll see the game.
In this game, I've set
an ascending level of difficulty, so in level one the players can adapt
to the rules and regulations of the game. And I've also added many challenging
questions (some chemistry stuff), especially in level 3. I've also used special event editing skills not
taught in class, such as the scrolling of central window frame and the gravity function.
