Nextgen - Discover the potential in the next generation of leaders

Well the NEXTGEN program is a really small word that encompasses so much we work with youth to get them do their jobs or a career... we help them with training which is scholarships maybe short-term training and career goal planning and setting The training track is where an individual or youth needs to finish a high school diploma or obtain a GED or maybe they're already done that and they need a job. and then the J track is the job track where we offer job retention job seeking techniques we have the 2 week work readiness which is foundations training We offer on-the-job training opportunities adult work experience opportunities and um... NEXTGEN pretty much assists with overcoming barriers and employment barriers and setting those goals to be successful and learn how to reach those goals, short term, long term, employment educational goals... When I got back from school in August of last year and I've been trying since August last year to get a job and I couldn't find anything anything until I interned at Brevard Workforce and and applied for NEXTGEN and that's how it helped me. Jordan is efficient she's always on the ball she's a step ahead of you no matter what direction you're going in and we knew immediately that she would be a great employee for somebody I think it was helping, it was helping a lot lot the NEXTGEN Keisha is we have these champions at Brevard Workforce and she is a true champion uh... right now I work at Vance, Lotane & Bookhardt, I'm assistant team lead for the collections department once I finish school I will be doing my internship for paralegal there and who knows what else will happen. Keisha, I'd like to give her huge accolades because she is a parent and she's married and she has two children and she's just done an amazing job with work-life balance I have seen her juggle her schedule, she's also a full-time student and if she can do it - I used her as an example - anybody can do it. So she started that position and she has just excelled and received a promotion not too long ago Knowing that I had somebody else believing in me it motivated me to complete what I wanted to do. And it does not take as much as you think to help them become a part of your very successful team You can acquire this talent through this simple offering of let me give them a chance. Give people an opportunity and you'll be amazed, as we have been. This is the best opportunity that I had Now I have a good paying job and I have a life. Finally.
