Nine or ten years ago I had a little stroke so after that my doctor, one of the doctors,
said that I should do some kind of gentle exercise. An acquaintance told me that at
The 519 they have all kinds of free programs which is unusual because most places you go
to you have to pay to be a member or something, and so I checked it out. They have a Tai Chi
class and it was the right type of Tai Chi for me because I fit right in and I really
enjoyed it. It was wonderful. Whenever there's a new program or a new thing comes up I say
"sign me up", I say "I'm in." After several years I was trained by *** Moore to be sort
of like a welcome sergeant, I'm not sure what the exact word was, and every time when somebody
new comes into the drop-in it was my job to say, "hello, are you new here for the first
time?" and to greet them in some way. To me, I'm very pleased and happy that I'm part of
The 519 and it's, like I said, it's like a second home to me and people are friendly
here and they're very nice to me, so I have a lot of nice things to say about The 519
and it's a great place
