Because wine is so important in Spain, we're about to go check out a wine tasting evening.
Spain is actually the third largest producer of wine in the world, after France and Italy
and Spaniards drink on average ten gallons of wine a year.
In Spain to make wine is called 'elaborar' to elaborate rather than to produce because
it is seen as an art form here. When I was eighteen years old, my grandfather
put me in a place like this, and he told me 'come with me, come with me, we won't tell
your mammy' and he gave me some good wine and he told me 'any time you want to drink
good wine, ask me. Never go out with your friends and drink for divertido, because there
are some really really bad . . . or sangria . . . you drink that it means it is not really
good wine and they are going to mix the wine with another product, so any time you want
to get a really good wine come here and I will get you a good wine.

My name is Jose Cerif and I am from Spain; Estremudura is the region and the winery is
called 'Bodegas Oran'. First of all you must take the glass up this way, because this way
you can see the colour of the wine, and you can also move it. And then, the second part
where is a visual phase, you can see the colour, in this case a white wine, it is a light yellow
it is a wine from this year, from last year, 2011. It is a nice colour it is green, it
is greenier so that makes a thing that it is a perfect wine.
We are doing here at Samevans like tasting courses, some different tastings about olive
oil or different products like ham or cheese and how to marinate these products with wine.
Oh wow very nice. So with this wine what kind of food would go best?
The white? It is white. It is quite sweet so I recommend just like a starter and later
on to pass on to another wine. And your wine...? What would go with
your wine? Ah uh well it depends this is ahm . . . very
impressed already, let me try. Definitely this is really good for the cheese.
This is my business and my wife, we are working here seventeen years now.
And so what wine do you recommend? What are your favourite wines?
Now in Spain we have the best quality price wine. The rioja wine is incredible;
the vera le iguero wine is fantastic but we have too many different places. Beifca wine
is fantastic, Torro eh beira, too many different place. Very different grape is very different
but very very nice. High quality price is fantastic.
At the moment. Everything is correct. The wine is correct because the colour is okay, the
smell is nice, it is good, it is fruity, and now we are going to drink it.
