Hello! I'm Linda Hallberg and today I will talk about foundation
Just a quick, basic tutorial
There's so much to talk about regarding foundations
BB cream, CC ceam, powder, mineral foundation, liquid foundation and much more
But today we're focusing on the basics
The first thing I look for when choosing foundation for someone
-is to see if that person has fat or oily skin
If dry, an oily foundation is preferred to rehydrate the skin
And a water based foundation if the skin is oily
Then you have to pick the right color
The most common error made is when you test it on your wrist
Because the wrist isn't in the same color as the face
So test the foundation on the face where it should be!
Like here on the jaw line
So that the face and neck share the same color
-to avoid a stripe on the jaw line
It's also good to know if
-you should pick a yellow, pink or a neutral foundation for example
Because the skin tone may vary
If you're pale, easily get freckles and sunburn
-then a foundation with a pink tone is recommended
If you're skin tone is more yellow and it's harder to get sunburned
-then a yellow foundation is recommended
If you feel you're in between those you could choose a neutral foundation
Now I'm going to talk about the different types of foundation
Liquid foundation
Really good if you want to smooth out your skin tone some more
It's always good to put powder on top of a liquid foundation
For fixation and to make it stick
This is CC cream (color correcting)
It's a Six-in-One so it works as a primer, concealer, foundation and more
It's moisturizing and more of a caring product than straight makeup product
The same goes for BB cream
Not so much covering but rather caring
"BB" means beauty balm
This is really nice in the summer
If you want just a bit of smoothening and still keep your skins luster
This is the mineral foundation
Covers much or less depending on how you work it
Usually it's possible to cover a lot when working with a mineral powder
Comes in many different colors and shades
This is the powder foundation, available on cake!
This is a loose mineral powder but they're also available on cake
I don't recommend this for dry skin
-because dry skin can look very flaky with too much powder
But for oily skin this works perfect
Put some of this on if you're nose is red in the winter for instance
We also have this stick
Very good to use for covering a lot and for a natural look if you want that
It works exactly like a liquid foundation with powder on top for the best result
To sum it up
To find the right foundation for you -see if you're skin is dry or oily
See if you're warm or cold (red or yellow)
-or neutral in your skin tone
Test it out on the jaw line instead of the hand
Find out if you want a liquid or a fast mineral foundation
-or maybe a more caring product like BB cream for example
This was a very quick foundation video
-there are so much more to talk about regarding foundations
This was just some quick guidelines
I hope you learned something from this and that you like this video!
