Wacken 2013 - Nightwish - Review

Hey Guys. Welcome to my next Bandreport from Wacken 2013! The next Band we ware talking about is Nightwish! Staying with the motto "new singer - new luck" Nightwish has seperated himself from the singer Anette Olzon a few months ago. As a temponary replacement the singer Floor Jansen from the Netherlands has joined. The concert was more than a gala event. They have played on sataurday evening at 10:45 p.m. until 00:15 a.m. It was a DVD/ Blue-Ray recording. I'm honest. I went to this show without any expectations. I knew Nightwish just from the CDs and thought: "Oh yes... it's cool." I knew some old stuff not with Anette Olzon but with the other singer which was before. My girlfriend also had the LP "Dark Passion Play" at home where we listened a little bit. So we thought: "Let's go then and see a little light Gothic..... Rock...." That was what we thought we would get.... So, we went to the stage and got a place very at the front. It was because of a puddle where nobody wanted to stand. It was a little rain the day and all the "Rammstein Mainstream fans" were scared to stand around the puddle. I don't know why... Anywhere, we had the place. Shortly before the show a man with long hair came out and told that this conzert will be recorded. He also wanted that we have to scream very lound when the band comes out because of the effect... We did that. After that show started and we thougt: BUUUUHM!!! What the hell is happening? The sound and everything! It was a real salvation I just knew the band from the LPs and thougt that it would be a little bit and not so much... We just listen a little and dance a little. What we gat was a metal show from the top! It was so awesome! It was the best show I have seen in Wacken this year. My personal Highlight! The new female singer is great. She is just a temporary, but I would like to see if she would stay at the band. I think she is a good fusion of Tarja at one hand and Anette's good parts at the other hand. She has moved very good to the songs and had a great rock voice from Anette. She also made headbanging a lot. Tarja would never headbang. She was a too nobel person for that. However, she had in approaches I deliberately say "In Approaches" because I don't ant that some good knowing people say: "NO YOU ARE WRONG!" She got in approaches the voice of Tarja. And you have noticed that the crowd was really on fire! I Don't know the title but at one song Floor got this opera voice where you thought: "Oh my god! This is Nightwish at the old times! This is Tarja who is standing there!" The crowd was completly flipped-out. They screamed louder and louder! Goose pimples where going from head to feet. This was awesome! The funniest scene of the concert happened right beside me. 3 guys at the age of 18 or 19, maybe younger were standing beside me. They wore white shoes, light pants and grey jackets without any band or something They were standing in front of the stage and watched the concert with a face like this: You didn't see anything from them - Neither at the applauses... One of them looked around one time and tryed a Metal sign at the and of a song.... Like this.... Ok, thats good! Ok, I think I am the reason why they left the concert.... I didn't want that! But at one song you could put the arms around each other and headbang slow and cool My arms were around my girlfriend. I didn't touch the boy next to me! He watched me suprising, talked to his friends and after that they went away... I'M SORRY BUT I DON'T LIKE THIS EITHER WHEN SOME HEADBANGERS START TO HEADBANG IN A CONCERT IN WACKEN! THEN I HAVE TO GO TOO!!! xD When they left this show I wasn't bad to them. I just made a little wink to say goodbye and one of them made this a little scary back.... For me was this one of the funniest scenes on this WOA. I think they were just some kids who just knew Rammstein and didn't know what this will be. It was just funny to me. Right. Let's go then to the final evaluation. The "Around it": The sound was perfect and great. It was a great quality. And I will give the band 10/10 points! The atmosphere: It was not bad that we knew that this will be a recording. It was the opposite and after this great performance of Floor the fans were really crazy! So the result is: 10 / 10 The bandperformance was awesome! 10 / 10 points because they have made a verry good show and made a great performance! There were cool special effects also with the pyromatics and my highlight in Wacken this year! So for the completion we only can give the band 10 / 10 ponts! How is your opinion for this concert?
