- You are going to give me the Oracle Keys?!
- Yes...
Now that I've seen and met your people...
They deserve my help as much as Arachna.
We don't want to fight any more.
We should all be living together peacefully
under a single Oracle Sun, Mantid.
- Poetic...
Your words truly touch me, Hunter Steele.
- Once we bring light back to your world,
we won't be enemies any more.
- I see. Very well.
I'll make a vow then.
I will end all hostilities
when you bring me the remaining Oracle Keys.
- You've got yourself a deal!
I'll return to the Labyrinth and bring our Oracle Keys back.
- Let's ride, Shadow! - Right!
[Demonic chuckling]
[Blasting] - Huh?
You!
- It's Hero Quake!
- Ah... The Hero Quake... So, you're still alive.
- Hero Quake, what are you doing here?
- Why do you think I'm here?
I came to keep you two fools
from being taken in by Mantid's transparent tricks.
- Hey! He isn't that transparent.
- Well, I wasn't fooled. I had suspicions all along.
If you say so.
The true reason there is no sunlight in the Invectid world
is not because the Spirit Oracle denied it.
The evil mind behind that devastating act
is standing in this room. Isn't that right, Mantid?
- [Hunter]: Is that true?
- [Laughing]: These are the ramblings of an old man.
- Protect Great Mantid!
- From who? That old guy?
- He is an intruder. Take him. - [Both]: Sssector!
- Mantid, don't!
- Hero Quake is an agent of the Spirit Oracle
and cannot be allowed to roam free.
- Don't hurt him!
- [Invectids gleefully]: Ah!
- I'm in a beautiful field of flowers.
- I'd like to tiptoe through those tulips.
- [Quake]: A taste of the happiness they deserve.
- I see your powers of illusion are undiminished.
- [Hunter]: Quake?
- [Shadow]: They're lost in a dream world.
- [Quake]: Hunter Steele,
Long ago the Spirit Oracle created this Inner World
and created its sun with her great power.
Before her it was a barren place.
But she came and breathed life
into the cavern that holds the Inner World.
Beneath her sun grew plants,
insects, animals, lakes and rivers.
Humans and Invectids alike, thrived and prospered.
The Oracle's power to create sunlight and create life itself,
is sealed within her Oracle Keys.
- In the Oracle Keys?
- [Shadow]: We had no idea the Keys contained that much power!
- Well, they do.
Mantid tried to extract the power Of The Keys through force.
The results were catastrophic.
All light disappeared from the Invectid World
and they have lived in darkness ever since...
All because of their "beloved" leader.
Mantid...
You knew your actions would have dire consequences.
So why would you still go through with them?
- Silence, old man.
- You're actually planning to try again, aren't you?
Don't you care about your people?
- I warn you...
- You're willing to destroy the Inner World
to steal the power of the Oracle?
- I said be silent!
- [Quake giggling]: Whoa!
Mantid reveals his true colours!
No need to get angry. The truth hurts doesn't it?
[Growling]
- Okay... Time to get off.
- Thanks for the ride.
- You lied. I just don't get it, Mantid.
I trusted you.
I really wanted to give you the Keys
and end this war so we could have a better life.
Why are you betraying everyone?!
- Because my needs are far greater than your petty concerns.
- Huh?!
- So this war on humanity is just for your amusement?
- My ultimate goals are far greater than that.
- And these goals are worth the destruction of the Inner World?
- I can only achieve them by destroying this world.
- But the Invectid people trust you.
They fight in your name, Mantid.
- And I am so grateful to have such trust.
- Grateful?
Right.
You don't know the meaning of the word! - Come no further!
- Hey!
- Thanks Quake! - [Quake]: Shadow!
- [Shadow]: You called?
- You won't get far.
- Great Mantid! What has happened?
- An old adversary of mine has taken Hunter Steele.
- The Spider Riders dared to attack here?!
- Of course they didn't. It was the Hero Quake.
- The Hero Quake? You mean that dusty old Spider Rider?
- Sound the alarm.
Destroy Quake and bring me Hunter Steele. Immediately!
- Of course!
- For the moment we are safe here right under Mantid's nose.
[Quake shouting in pain] - Whoa!
- My back!
- Quake, you're pushing yourself too hard.
- Oh, am I? Like I had any choice.
Not only did you waltz into Mantid's citadel,
you were ready to hand over the Oracle Keys
and doom the Inner World!
- I knew you were foolish but I didn't think you were a fool!
- I'm sorry.
But something had to be done, Quake.
- Yes, it's true one's actions can change the world, Hunter.
But one cannot change the world alone.
- Shadow: [Don't worry, Quake.]
[We'll never be fooled by Mantid again.]
If he gains control of the remaining Oracle Keys,
[would the Oracle Sun disappear?]
- Oh yes... But I didn't know for sure
until the incident a few days ago.
- What incident?
- The two of you should know. You were both there!
After gaining the second Oracle Key
all the light drained from the sun for a short time.
- [Shadow]: I remember.
Hunter summoned the power of the remaining 2 Keys to hold off the Invectids.
But suddenly the Keys went cold and the sun went dark.
Even the Invectids were terrified.
- Mantid almost succeeded in draining the power of the first 2 Keys
but the 2 Keys in your possession
kept our sun alive and shining. It's a precarious balance.
- [Shadow]: When Hunter tried to use the power for battle,
the energy came directly from the Sun.
That's why it went dark!
[I can see why the Invectids want the Oracle Keys to revive their world.]
[And why Mantid is corrupted by such power.]
- Now do you see, Hunter? - Mmmm hmmm.
There are many things to weigh,
before taking a rash action like you were planning.
The important thing is to uncover the truth
before making your final decision.
- You are totally right, Quake.
You stopped me from making a really bad mistake back there.
But still, something has to be done to stop this war.
- So now you know the truth behind Mantid's mad scheme, Hunter Steele.
The humans and the Invectids need a hero.
So what will you do?
- Do you think that that hero...
could turn out to be me, Hero Quake?
- A hero follows his own path.
He makes his own decisions.
Think hard and follow your heart, Hunter Steele.
- Mmm hmm. Oh yes sir!
Of course, a little hint or 2 wouldn't hurt, would it?
[Growling]
- I thought the Hero Quake was gone for good.
Now I must accelerate my plans and take those Keys by force.
My time is running out.
I must drain the Oracle of her power soon.
Then I will have all the power I need
in these very hands.
Then I will destroy the Spider Riders and the Inner World.
- Have you located the Spider Rider Hunter Steele?
- [Invectid]: He has completely disappeared, sir!
- Why did I agree to Mantid's plan?
I should have grabbed that Spider Rider
while I had the opportunity.
- [Quake]: Well, well. Aren't we the popular ones?
Mantid has sent out his entire army to find us.
Imagine... He really should learn to relax a little more.
- Mantid knew who you were.
Have you 2 fought before?
- Mantid and I go way back.
He's never liked me. I have a habit of getting in the way of his plans.
- So what were the Spider Riders like in your time? How did they fight?
- Each one was as different from the other
as you and your friends are.
We even had one Spider Rider who came
from the surface world, like you.
- The Outer World? Do you remember his name?
- I don't know. *** or Trigger...
Something crazy like that.
- You can't remember?
- It seems to have slipped my mind.
- Could it be possible that his name was Digger Steele?
'Cause that was my grandfather's name.
- Doesn't ring a bell.
- Is that so?
- Hunter, we should talk about what we're going to do now.
- Well, I'm pretty sure we can rule out
negotiating a truce with Great Mantid.
Maybe we should wait for Corona and the others.
- Now you're thinking.
They should be able to get out of the Labyrinth sometime this afternoon.
- How can you be so sure of that?
- I can feel it in my bones.
[Both laughing]
- I know one thing for sure. You're a strange dude, Quake.
Time to go. Shadow...
What do you say we go meet Corona and the others
at the gateway to the Labyrinth?
They should be there soon. Aye!
[Buzzrays beeping]
- The Buzzrays have located us.
Hope you're happy with yourself. - Oops. Sorry.
- [Shadow]: We are surrounded.
- Why are you smiling?
- Oooo... My back went out. Ouch!
- Now what?
- [Shadow]: Hunter!
- Hey chill. I'm coming.
Spider Out!
Arachna Power!
Spider Rider!
Good thing I brought my fly swatter.
Huh?
- Remember, it is Mantid who wishes
to destroy the Inner World with his greed.
He is deceiving the Invectids to get them to do his evil bidding.
- Hmmm...
- What are we waiting for?
- I can't fight them, Shadow.
The Buzzrays are fighting to bring the power of the sun back to their land.
It's not their fault. - You're kidding, right?
[Laser blasts]
- Finally he's starting to use his head
instead of just leaping in.
Now what will you do, Hunter Steele?
Will you fight? Or will you run?
- Hunter, you must attack!
- I can't!
- Once they send in reinforcements,
it will be too late!
- Ha! - Hunter!?
- Shadow... Take Quake and get him out of here.
Right... Now! I'll keep them busy.
- What are you going to do if you don't fight?
- All I know for sure is that it would be wrong
to fight the Invectids. Ha!
- Hunter!
- Shadow! I told you to go! - NO!
- Grrr...
Watch out!
- Quake!
- Ha! Ha!
- I was certain you'd either flee or fight.
But you chose to do neither.
Don't get a swelled head. There's more work to be done.
- Gotcha.
- We have a lot in common.
I had the same thought in the middle of the battle.
It makes no sense.
Both sides have legitimate reasons to fight.
Why continue battling when both of us are right?
Then I solved the puzzle!
With my Sword of Surrender!
- Uh...
- Whoa!
- What was that!?
- I don't know but the Buzzrays are flying away.
- But what made them do it?
- As I was saying,
Why continue battling when both sides are right?
But running away is not an option either.
That is when I developed the attack I became famous for;
Sword of Surrender!
- The attack which strikes only
the fighting spirit of your enemies.
- Yes. The legend is true then.
The Hero Quake never harmed his enemies.
He only killed their fighting spirit.
- Hunter...
If you can learn this then you will become a true Champion.
Remember...
My motto is: "Never give up."
- That's awesome! How cool!
I have the same motto as Hero Quake!
- Slow down, Hunter.
[Giggling] - Whoa!
You are one of the coolest dudes I've ever met.
- Ow! Ow my back!
My back! Ow, my back!
- Hey, don't just stand there looking like a dummy.
Aren't you going to help an old man stand up?
[Struggling in pain]: Oh!
Come on, what are you waiting for? Christmas?
Oh you young whipper snappers are all alike.
- Okay, so maybe he isn't the coolest dude I've ever met.
- The Buzzrays returned because they lost their fighting spirit?
It's Quake, no doubt up to his old tricks again.
So, he has joined forces with the Spider Riders
and there's no time to lose.
I must move my plans forward quickly.
Nothing will stand in my way!
- [Lumen]: Are you sure, we are taking the right path, Igneous?
- I wish I could say I was, Prince.
But nothing is sure in this tangled maze.
- Then we must have faith that we will find our way.
- [Sparkle]: I'm tired and hungry, Uncle Hop. Can we rest?
- I don't see why not.
What do you say we stop for a snack?
- [Magma]: Sounds good to me.
- No, we can't. - But why?
- Hunter is probably waiting for us at the gate to the Labyrinth.
It doesn't make any sense to take a break
when we are so close.
- Oh... Okay then.
- Alright. Then we'll hurry.
- Oh! This way. I found it!
I've found the gateway out of the Labyrinth!
- [Corona]: What a desolate place.
- [Igneous]: It's hard to believe anything lives here.
- Yeah. Anything but evil.
- [Lumen]: This is the land that the Invectids call home?
- [Igneous]: Nothing seems alive.
- [Magma]: Yeah. It's like the life has been sucked out of it.
- [Grasshop]: Okay, okay... [Sparkle whimpering]
It's bleak and barren but you get used to it.
Sunlight, trees and flowers can be overrated, you know.
- [Sparkle]: But it's so dark. I'm scared of it.
- Oh Princess, there's no reason to be scared of my home.
I can't wait to introduce you to my family!
- A land without sunlight.
A land without the Oracle's blessing.
- Hey Slowpokes, what took you so long?
- Huh?
- [Igneous]: Hey! - [Magma]: Hunter!
[Corona giggling]
- Hunter! - Ha! Ha! Ha!
Huh?
Hey... What's the idea?
- Let Corona say hello first. - Oh.
- They need to catch up a little.
- Sometimes I'm really thick.
- Hunter! Hunter!
[Giggling]
Hunter! Oh.
I was so worried about you.
But now, I couldn't be happier.
- Nice of you to worry about me.
[Corona yelping] It's so good to see you again too, Corona.
Did you miss me?
- Ew...
- Ah...
- I can't believe it. Hero Quake!
- [Igneous]: Did you say Hero Quake?
- [Hop, Sparkle, Lumen]: No way!
- I hurt my back. You don't mind carrying me around?
- No way pops! - Ah.
- Ohhh...
My back. My back.
Now my back really hurts.
[Whimpering in pain]: Ohhh...
I mean it now.
I'm not just trying to get a free ride like before.
Come on, someone carry me.
Oh Pleeease?
Oh Pleeease? Oh come on.
- [Lumen]: That Quake is one strange dude.
