My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht; I'm an event planner

wedding.
To find a great vintage wedding dress, definitely look online, but of course it's hard to shop
online for your wedding gown. You want to see how it looks on you. Find a local rich
neighborhood, their consignment shops will be filled with them. They're not crazy expensive
and you can find beautiful designer gowns. Sometimes they're from this season and sometimes
they're fifty years old, but that's usually your best bet. Vintage will always be tougher,
but once you find it you'll feel like you're wearing something that no one else could and
it's totally true.
When buying a vintage dress, just be careful, check for wear and tear over time, sometimes
there's a little bit of dirt, you can usually clean that off. But just in case you can't,
you don't want to walk down the aisle with dirt covering the hem of your dress. You might
look great in your vintage wedding dress, but if it's yellowed, you'll look a little
sad and tired, try to stay away from that. If buying online, ask before you buy it, if
the dress has been cleaned and preserved properly. So for that great unique look, definitely
look for a vintage wedding dress.
