WELCOME TO ALL HANDS UPDATE. I'M PETTY OFFICER TONY ROSA WITH YOUR HEADLINES FROM AROUND
THE FLEET.
THE NAVY WILL BEGIN ISSUING FLAME RESISTANT COVERALLS TO SHIPBOARD SAILORS EARLY NEXT
YEAR IN RESPONSE TO CONCERNS ABOUT THE FLAME RESISTANCE OF SHIPBOARD UNIFORMS.
THE NEW FLAME RESISTANT VARIANT, OR FRV, COVERALL WILL COMBINE THE EXISTING BLUE UTILITY COVERALL
DESIGN WITH THE FLAME RESISTANT FABRIC OF THE REPAIR LOCKER COVERALL.
MEANWHILE, IN WASHINGTON, THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE AND OTHER GOVERNMENT AGENCIES SIGNED
A STATEMENT OF INTENT AUGUST 15TH REAFFIRMING THEIR COMMITMENT TO THE REDESIGNED TRANSITION
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, OR TAP.
THE REDESIGNED TAP PROVIDES TRAINING TO BUILD SKILLS AND ENABLE TRANSITIONING SERVICE MEMBERS
TO MEET CAREER READINESS STANDARDS ESTABLISHED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE.
YOU CAN READ MORE ABOUT THESE STORIES AT NAVY.MIL.
FROM ALL HANDS UPDATE, THANKS FOR WATCHING.
