To me being a great negotiator is a must have skill to have a productive and lucrative life. The reason being negotiation skills is more then trying to get someone to buy something from you. Its actually a skill that an help you with in your everyday life. So I've come up witha list of witha list of 5 points to becoming a better negotiator. 1. Know Your Limits When it comes to negotiating you must know exatly what you want to pay or want to be paid. Then you need to know your bottom. and no I'm not talking about your bottom bottom. I'm talking about your bottom price that you will accept from the other person or pay the other person. 2. Understand who your negotiating with If you don't understand the person or what they want then your negitations are probably aren't going to go over well with the other party. You have to be in tune with what they want and try to come to a win win situation. 3. Make The 2nd Move Most people like to counter offer so if your like most people then you should wait to see what the other party is offering first. You want to wait and see if the other party meets your limit or surpasses your price without you evening asking a thing. 4. Try to Be Fair Always try to make things a win win for the both of you. You never want to leave the other party feeling cheated on purpose because that can kill you when it comes to any future negotiations 5. Be Prepared Being prepared in a negotiation is definitely knowing what you will accept and won't accept. Also being prepared when it comes to negotiatons you have to know what the market values are for whatever your purchasing thats so you don't insult the other parties intellegience and super low ball someone. 6. The Bonus tip Don't be afraid to walk away from a deal. Most people feel like you want what they have so you won't walk away but if the negotiations aren't going your way and its a reasonable reason to walk then do that. Nine times out of ten if they really want what you have or have the money to pay you they won't let you walk away from the deal.
