Matt Vernon's Video Diary 2011_02_02

Oh there's one in a tree. Is it a bird? Yeah! I got it one! It's just sitting there. I'll ask Zach what that one is in a min. If it's a green one then I've got it on camera. I'm gonna zoom out again because I can't find it. Oh there it is. Where am I? The birds are in that tree. Where is it? Oh there...! Oh... I zoomed out by accident. Look at that big, fat, red one! God! He's massive! Where's the other one? Oh, I can't find him Where did he go? Oh there he went. Just one in a tree... (Come on!) (Eat!) He's just up above it... There he is! Got you! Oh you... beautiful... I can see what Zach sees in it now. Maybe I should go from a different angle. [General talk] We're just waiting now. Where are you? Erm, they're moving back in now. Oh look at that girl- she's coming out! What's wrong with her? [Dan] I thought you were going to say "Look at that girl, she's well fit then." [Me] Come on! There's one in a tree but we're just waiting here. Right, we're moving back in again. I don't know anything about birds but I think that's a chaffinch. Zach said the chaffinches look like that. Obviously you can't see it because I'm focusing on one point but according to Zach, we have four species in this little garden. It's just a waiting game. They're closing in, you see? Where are we? It's somewhere there. Oh there! [Laughs] Hopping along! Ooh! Ooh-ooh-ooh! Aw... Where did she go? (Beautiful...) See they're hopping about everywhere and then the birds fly away again! These people just walk past! I know they have lectures but I wanna watch some birds! I think I might make this into a video for the Vloggers out there. Probably this'll be episode 6.5 or 6½- like the behind the scenes one. Now, where are these birds? There will be a point where there are no people, I'm sure of it. Maybe if I zoom out... Then I'll find a bird and zoom in. These birds are beautiful. I've got my eyes open... I haven't got long because I need to go. I'll stay here for 10 more minutes. (Where've you gone?) (Come on!) By the way this is the view outside of the kitchen window. This is kind of the Cefn Y Coed cul-de-sac It carries on down there- like one, big cul-de-sac. This couple of buildings... we're H and it goes up in alphabetical order without the vowels. That's J and that's... Does it say there? That's K. Now where are these birds? I think they've gone home... ...back to Bird Land. These people are scaring all the birds away. Anyway, where is it? Oh there it is- right in front of me! We put a nut thing up and I saw a great *** on it earlier. That's the seed feeder- I don't know what to call it. That's gone down quite considerably since they put if up a couple of weeks ago. I think that's all we're gonna get. If you're watching this and there's nothing going on, then this is the uncut version. I'll mishmash it together if I can't find anything else. I'll come back on when I see some birds. I think that's all the birds we're going to get. I'll be back later to film some more. People are shifting in and out of their buildings Ill be filming later- bye bye! (It's a waiting game...) There's one over there. I don't know if I can zoom in enough for it. It's probably going to fly this way in a min. Is it on that branch? Oh, that's a different one. That's the one who was eating from it before. Where did it go? 0:10:02.000,0:10.04.000 It's on that branch. It's probably going to try again. It's there on the branch. What's another way to get there? Is he going to do it? I'll zoom in a little bit. Aw, you nearly had it then! [Dan is talking in the background.] Camera shy... He's trying from that angle. Why doesn't he just go for it? Go on! Do it! I'm going in a minute- just do it! What a scaredy cat... or scaredy bird. There's one up in that tree but I can't find it. He's just gone behind that log. I think that'll do. See you later! Right, this is rather rushed. We've got ***! Oh goodness, I've lost it already. Oh, is that not a ***? You haven't seen one of these on the video. It's a rather quick video just before I go. Look at it! It's brilliant! It's not as scared as the others from before because there have just been a couple of people walking past.
