Automatically translated by machine. Hello good morning, Today I'm going to do
the most requested video that I get in the comments which is a hair care video. Yay.
So I guess I'll start with basics first, what exactly do I do to take care of my hair?
I don't actually have that much of a routine which is probably why I've put this video
off for so long. Because it's not really easy to say I do this,
this and this because I'm really lazy so my routine changes so often because of what I
have on hand or what I have in the cupboard or what is within arm's reach.
Once a month or once every 6 weeks I'll dye my regrowth blonde. I use Loreal prelightener.
I usually do the pink every 2 weeks. The pink that I use is Paint Box.
They are a subsidiary of Fudge and I use Pretty Flamingo and also the lighter Pink Moon.
I've already done a video on how I do the pink so I'll just do the pink when I'm washing
my hair. So far as actually washing my hair, I probably
do it maybe twice a week and rather than using shampoo anymore I've switched over to using
Baking Soda. I like baking soda because it's quite gentle,
it's natural and it works really well. Using it has really improved the condition
of my hair since switching from regular shampoo. Also you can use it as a dry shampoo which
you would have seen in my previous video somewhere up here.
So far as conditioner I generally use the stuff that comes with my blonde hair dye.
I find I don't like to use too much of it because I find my hair is a little bit oily
around the roots. So I've been using the KMS quick dry thing.
Basically it's a two layer thing and you shake it up and spray
it on your wet hair and it dries really quickly after that.
Probably cuts down drying time by like three quarters. So I love it.
I avoid using heat on my hair as much as possible so I don't like to blow dry my hair too much
unless it's really really cold and you're using the blow dryer for warmth.
So I try to do pin curls if I have time the night before.
Also if I just want wavy hair like this, wearing my hair in a bun overnight works really well.
I've recently started using this big comb thing to brush out all of the tangles.
I know you're not supposed to use an actual brush on wet hair because it's much more damageable.
Damageable, is that a word? Yeah. Damageable when it's wet so I've been using
this gigantor comb. It looks like some kind of clown novelty comb.
You'd get it out of the world's biggest Christmas cracker.
But it does the job. I try to buy only products that have heat
protector. I figure if you layer heat protectors you can't go wrong.
If I'm not using any other heat protector products I'll stick to Tresseme, what is it,
heat activated thermal creations spray. Why do hair products have so many names. Seriously,
you don't need a 7 word name. Call it heat protector.
As far as heat styling goes, this is my mini straightener.
I use it for everything, it's so versatile. You can use it for tiny curls or big waves.
This is my other can't live without heat styling appliance.
It's a VS Sassson Big Hair and basically it's a brush that shoots hot air out of it and
when you press the button it spins around. It's like having a hairdryer and brush, good
for uncoordinated people like me. I use it for my fringe pretty much every day.
Obviously the most important thing that I used is my brush. This one is really good,
of course mine is decoed because of course it would be.
I also use a teasing comb which is super useful. I used to use tease with my regular brush
until one day I decided what the hell, this is only $2. I bought a teasing comb and now
I'll never go back to my brush. It makes such a huge difference.
Pretty much the only thing I use in terms of actual hair styling products is hairspray.
The thing that I like about it is that it's brush out so you can spray it in your hair,
you can put it in really thick (you don't have to because it's really good) but if you
want to you can spray layer upon layer and at the end of the day you don't have to wash
out your hair, you can just brush it gently out.
It's great for people like me who hate washing their hair.
The one thing I've been using a lot lately is this sea salt texturing spray from Toni
and Guy's new collection. I'm not just using it because I'm in their book... which I was,
but that's not the point. I would use it anyway. When I started doing these braids and stuff
the one thing I didn't like was how flat and close to my head they were.
Braids like that are really good sometimes but I prefer really puffy ones where you can
really see the texture and how I achieve that is through this.
A lot of you asked what kind of tools I use to hold hairstyles up. If you don't see me
using anything else, it's just bobby pins. Pretty much my entire way of doing hair is
if it's not staying: add more hairspray and pins.
Also asked me what kind of hair masks and stuff I use and the answer is none. I've tried
a lot of them but none of them really left my hair in a condition which is better than
it started. Or no long term results. The one that I tried recently that I did actually
like was the Shisedo professional hair treatment mask. Or Pro Synergy Hair For Professional.
Again long name! I've tried it a couple of times now over the
last few weeks. After washing my hair putting it through especially around my fringe because
that's the part that gets the most damaged. And it has really improved the condition,
so that's good and I'll buy that again. So far as cutting my hair, I do that myself
because I'm a control freak. I don't leave split ends for a long time,
I cut them straight away because leaving split ends while you're trying to grow your hair
out is shooting yourself in the foot. The longer you leave split ends the further
up the hair shaft they go and the further you have to cut to get rid of them eventually.
People keep asking how 2 and a half years of bleach hasn't killed my hair yet. I've
been following the instructions very carefully on all of the products I use, the dyes the
bleaches all of that. You can see sometimes the ends of my fringe
do get a bit damaged from the bleaching because they are the parts that get it the most often.
The end of the fringe tend to get a bit raggedy, when that happens I just snip them off.
So I think that's everything. If you did have any other questions just leave them in the
comments and I'll try to answer them next week.
Or if you want to suggest a topic for next week's Friday video leave that in the comments
too. These last few weeks have been pretty crazy
so I wanted to keep you up to date with what I've been doing.
I've been featured in a campaign for Tony and Guy called Hair Meets Wardrobe Blogged
and Bound. It's basically, the took some of the top fashion
and beauty bloggers in Australia and we did this amazing photo shoot in Sydney and we
did a video. There's a link to the post about it in the description. And if you want to
check out the video where they followed me around for a day it's up here.
I was in an episode of Tokyo Kawaii International a few weeks ago which was really awesome.
I can't show you it unfortunately because it was a live broadcast. I'm not allowed to
upload it but once I get permission you'll be able to see me in Japanese TV.
And I know you guys have been patiently waiting for more Bergamot news. Finally after so much
stress and drama the charms featuring Bergamot's cute little face have arrived and they are
going up on the shop on Monday in various forms. There will be charms, jewellery and
more. So there will probably be a competition next
week to win one. The shops will open on Monday so look out
for news because heaps of stuff is happening. That's it for now.
Thank you guys so much for watching. And I hope you enjoyed the first of what will hopefully
be lots of these Friday videos. If you liked it let me know by liking, commenting,
subscribing, whatever. Thanks so much for watching!
Bye! Her arm doesn't really move.
