>>GILL: My name's Gill Hicks
I'm the founder of a not for profit called Mad for Peace
and have found myself the inspiration for an amazing piece of work
that Brink Productions and English Touring Theatre company
are putting on, called 'Thursday'.
>> CHRIS: It tells the story of nine lives,
nine stranges who all wake up on a Thursday morning
and go through their daily routines, go out into the day
and are confronted by a horrific event.
[Background piano music begins]
We follow some of those lives in the hours, days, weeks
and months that follow.
>>Rather magically, wonderfully and I think,
for me, powerfully,
is capturing this idea of the brilliance of humanity.
And that the person next to you, however infuriating
we may find our fellow human beings at times,
the person next to you may also in the split of a second
[clicks fingers]
be your saviour.
And I think that there's an incredible take out
from this for an audience, and why pieces of work
like 'Thursday' are actually very important
for public address, as a reminder.
For us to have reminders.
