Now to sports news.
The five NZ Super Rugby League squads for 2014
have been confirmed today.
The announcements include 22 new players to the competition
one of which is Tuhoe's Benji Marshall.
He's the new rugby pin-up boy
as all five newly designed super jersies
were revealed at Auckland's Eden Park today.
But these small distractions
won't divert the Whakatane boy from his goals.
This Tuhoe descendant has played rugby league for 11 years.
Now he's anxiously switched to rugby union.
Since returning home in the last three weeks,
Marshall has had no trouble getting to work off the field-
and on the field.
Four weeks remain before the Blues commence training.
One of his challenges is to get used to the rules.
Hopefully by watching the Kiwis' clashes
in the Rugby League World Cup Marshall will be able
to turn away from league completely.
Today a Blues jersey,
but like the majority of Maori boys,
wearing the Black jersey will be his goal.
Oriini Tipene-Leach, Te Karere.
