Sea salt is life - the true history of "Flor de Sel" (Flower Salt)
Now I want to do something that excites me a lot
I want to collect these microscopic salt crystals
that's the fabulous and legendary "fleur de sel" (salt flower)
which is the salt that emerges for flotation. It's really amazing
Practically this is the finest salt of the world
because floating on the water does not form crystals conglomerates
for which retains all the properties and characteristics of the
artisan salt. The difference between the mine salt and the sea salt
lies in the fact that the mines have the salt deposited from ancient seas
then buried under tons of rock
while sea salt instead regenerates itself through the evaporation
of sea water. So let's say, in its own way, even if it's a mineral
that has got millions of years, it regenerates and recomposes
itself in the magic of the saline
For the magic of saltworks,
this one is particularly magical,
within a WWF protected natural reserve,
in Sicily, near Marsala
in Sicily, near Marsala
and this salt is extraordinarily good for cooking
