Earthquakes rock Indonesia and Formosa (Taiwan). In the early hours of Friday, April 29, a
5.0-magnitude quake struck off Indonesia’s Java Island, 132 kilometers southwest of Bantul
in Yogyakarta province. That afternoon, another 5.4-magnitude temblor rumbled near the island
of Sumatra, centered 185 kilometers southeast of Banda Aceh. Off the coast of Formosa, a
5.5-magnitude tremor was registered 193 kilometers southeast of Taitung. There were fortunately
no immediate damages or injuries reported for any of the events.
With thankfulness for Heaven’s protection of those in the quake-shaken regions, we pray
that such potential dangers may soon be minimized through humanity’s adoption of kinder, eco-stabilizing
ways
