There are many different kinds of teapots to make. Some of them have a lid that sits
inside the pot. That's the gallery lid. This is one of my well used teapots that is probably
used about everyday. There's also this type. Also the same thing. I make sure that I put
this long *** on there so when you're pouring the teapot, it doesn't fall out. It holds
it in place. So that's the sit in type lid. Then the other type of lid which sits on top
of the pot. Even though it sits on top I still have a very long *** in there. That is
really important for a teapot because you're going to be pouring it out and out. It's not
falling off. So that's good. That lid holds it in. Really important. As we talk about
our teapots today, we go through the steps. I'm going to talk about how to attach spouts.
How to make the lids. And how to attach this little area right here which I guess called
a log to put the bamboo handle on it. There is also this hold type of handle. A lot of
these teapots, well, a lot of these teapots that I make have carved feet just to make
everything a little bit more interesting. Some of them I make with bamboo handles. Not
a lot people do like that. I tend to go more towards pulling the handle. I like that better.
