I welcome you all to my Kitchen
Today i am going to make Rajma , which is a favorite dish among Punjabis
Rajma with rice is favorite of many people no matter what the age
Lets start cooking
Ingredients
Step 1 is to grind onions and garlic in a Mixer and make it into a paste
Then we grind tomotoes , ginger and the green chillis and make the paste
now we add oil , hing and cumin seeds in a pan and cook for 30 seconds
now we add onion garlic paste
keep it on high flame till it becomes golden brown
Stir and dont let it stick to the bottom . Use a non stick pan
The onions have cooked in 7-8 minutes
Now we add the tomato paste
Now we add
Salt
only 1 tablespoon
Red chilli powder and turmeric powder
Coriander/dhania powder and garam masala
We will add a slight amount of water
Now we add bay leaf and put the lid on for 10 minutes
The Masala is ready . now we add kasuri methi/fenugreek
Now we add the same water to a cooker which we used to keep the rajma/kidney beans soaked overnight
We add the masala and the kidney beans to the cooker and
add the remaining salt
Now we put the lid on and close it tight with the help of the gasket and keep the mixture on high flame
and wait till you see the steam escaping from the vent
now keep it on a slow flame for 40 minutes .
now everthing is ready so we add fresh coriander to garnish and take it out in a bowl
now we put rice , we add our prepared rajma , we add some curd and some papad
