Heather Higginbottom Reacts to The Citizen's Briefing Book

Hi, I'm Heather Higginbottom,
I will be the Deputy Director of the Domestic Policy Council in
the White House. And we've been monitoring some submissions
on the Citizen's Briefing Book that we wanted to take a few minutes to discuss with you today.
Someone has written in and suggested that as the economic recovery has worsened, more and more
people are falling into poverty and that it should be a priority of the Obama Adminstration to tackle this issue.
This is a great suggestion and something that as we develop the Economic Recovery Package
and set out the agenda for the initial days we must keep in mind.
And we've received another submission on national service
and using national service to both help Americans build their skills
and their work experience to become attached
to the work force as well as to tackle some of the big challenges
facing the country such as energy efficency, improving education,
and working with seniors and children.
So these are great suggestions that we've been monitoring the postings
from across the country and we want to encourage you to keep them coming.
