Gop Puts Sen. Mcconnell out on a Limb

Senator Mitch McConnell's Republican colleagues say raising revenue should be on the table in deficit-reduction talks.

McConnell is out on a limb with revenues. Republicans are sawing it off. Jon Kyl was in negotiations, as you know, with the vice president; and he said there were certain revenue raisers and other areas that perhaps we could work on. We could bring down rates, eliminate a lot of tax expenditures or loopholes and actually make our nation more competitive internationally. I don't think anyone would argue with not doing expensing for corporate jets I never lobbied for any special tax treatment. I'd like to wipe all that out. I’m not for Crony capitalism. Do away with ethanol subsidies and a bunch of other subsidies that go to a few people take that money back into the federal treasury and pay off the debt. It's time to stop risking our economy. Close special-interest loopholes.
