Jinx here with Complex News. As always, there's a lot going on with Kanye. As of late he's
been in the headlines regarding his forthcoming "now untitled" album—which is just a week
away, his latest installment in the Yeezy Season line, as well as his brief beef w/
Wiz Khalifa and his ongoing stream of tweets. For all those who are Kanye fans, this surge
of activity is like Christmas.
But again, there's a lot going on, so we rounded it all up, with things kicking off with Kanye's
early morning call in to Big Boy's radio show on Real 92.3. The first thing he addressed
is the constantly morphing album title:
So there you have it, no title. Which explains Kim's Twitter poll, asking fans which album
title they prefer. It should be noted that almost 50% of the over 400 thousand voters
chose "So Help Me God" the title Kanye initially proposed back in March of 2015.
What the final title will ultimately end up being, is still up in the air, but the final
decision could very well come down to the last minute. One thing Kanye is sure about
is that his album is a Gospel album. He explained: Kanye also took time to shed light on his
record with Kendrick Lamar, "No More Parties in LA." and the role Big Boy played in it.
Beyond the album, the next biggest news item with Kanye was his short-lived, yet extravagant
Twitter feud with Wiz Khalifa. Big Boi, not shying away from any subject matter, questioned
Kanye about the origin of the tension and how the resolution came about.
The most pressing question came later in the interview when Big Boi asked Yeezy, "Is Drake's
pool bigger than yours?"
Well... that's a few updates regarding the album. Def check out Big Boi's interview in
its entirety on Complex.com right now.
What about the clothing line? Well Kanye's tweets earlier this morning have further confirmed
that his event at Madison Square Garden on February 11th, will be both a listening party
and a showcase for his Yeezy Season 3 collection. Oh and it's already sold out—in just 10
minutes according to Ye.
So where we at? We've talked about the album, the beef, and addressed his clothing line.
But how can we forget his odd Rolling Stone tweet? The one where he fooled just about
everybody but the Rolling Stone staff into believing he was their latest cover star,
with a photo taken by Tyler, The Creator. The only cover on the copy reads simply: Does
he like mustard?
Rolling Stone later chimed in to quell the chatter from the misinformed public.
While we love Kanye, and have many mustard-related questions for him, this is not an actual cover
of Rolling Stone.
The folks over at Billboard referred to the cover as Fake... and of course Kanye responded:
Aye Billboard you could use the term “unauthorized" but never refer to anything that me and Tyler
do as fake out of respect to musicians…
Aight... so I'm pretty sure that's it... for now. That's everything that Kanye West has
been up to in the last 24 hours. With the way he's been moving in the last few weeks,
and a lot of new creations on the way, we can expect to hear more from the often elusive
artists. If you wanna stay up to date, subscribe to our YouTube page. As always, I'm Jinx and
