Did you know that cancer is the leading cause of death in Australia?
In 2010 nearly 28,000 Victorians were diagnosed with cancer.
One in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of eighty-five.
Over the past few decades extensive research on common cancers has improved survival. However,
it’s the less common ones that account for over half of all cancer deaths in the country.
Cancer Council Victoria believes it’s now time to focus on the less common cancers,
to find the people behind the numbers and really understand what causes them so we can
improve survival across all cancers.
