My name is Tina Eaves. I’m the owner of Alterations and Creations, and I’m in downtown phoenix, Arizona.
I’ve been down here for 10 years, and been in business for 21 years.
The arts very much have an impact on my business. Since being in Phoenix, I work with theatre, do costuming for theatre.
In the music industry, I did custom clothing for musicians. Yeah, the arts really do impact me, and I’m always waiting for somebody to need me, basically.
I think it gives them an outlet, a creative outlet.
I know it helped me. I know I wouldn’t be where I’m at right now if I wasn’t involved in the arts.
It’s important to get young people involved in the arts early; early, three, four, five years of age. They need to start then, because then they grow a passion for it.
And then they continue it on. It doesn’t go away. Once you learn that,
once you acquire that fire to do something with your time, to create something out of nothing, then you know who you are. Nobody can take that away.
The choice is clear. The choice is art. Right, Batman? Right?
