Obamacare 'navigators' Caught on Video Telling Applicants to Lie

not sure if you remember James O'Keefe he's the kinda right-wing guerrilla videographer who filmed the acorn community organizing kind of scandal by going in with some surreptitiously a armed video cameras he also got NPR's president fired he's back and now he's doing an investigation that focuses on these Obamacare navigators and the navigators are these fifty thousand people who according to the Department of Health and Human Services will serve as an in person resource for americans who want assistance shopping for and enrolling in the plans on the Obamacare exchanges so he got some video and project Veritas release this it is highly edited we only get some excerpts I give you a little bit of it and the long and short of it is that the navigators are advising potential enrollees in Obamacare programs to lie about their income to not disclose on the side cash income et cetera or at least that's what appears to be take a look at this video making land on a cash basis I'll cut don't get yourself in trouble by declaring it now you there could it happened it I it this is a if they doing that happen okay never orbit okay okay now let's get get through a few things I got a handful email saying I won't report on this because it really makes Obamacare look bad I'm reporting on it I'm interested in the story the thing is I don't think it makes Obamacare look bad again a website that doesn't work or Obamacare navigators that are telling people to lie about their income have nothing to do with the merits a vote Obama Care as a program so while I know a lot of our viewers will make that connection I'm not making it they would make that connection whether I cover to cover this story or not now a spokesman for the texas Attorney General this was filmed in texas and gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott said Obamacare navigator program is ripe for a bit for abuse every government program love this type is ripe for abuse and to say that because this is happening with this program there should be no government involvement is anything in anything Louis is skipping like 50 steps and making connections that don't even exist right there's medicare Fraud should get rid of medicare I some of these people would say we should right well they say that now I'm medicaid you name it I E there's going this is going to happen with any government program and when I look at this I don't see people trying you trying to you defraud the government I see people trying to help other people save money and i think thats a human thing to do okay maybe the wrong thing to do but a this clearly has nothing to do you we've got whether or not Obamacare will be a success it could be any program where you have people there to help others obtain a benefit it doesn't matter whether it's ok Obamacare or whether it's a getting three guns right imagine that you if you if you have if you're below a certain income level right you can get a free gun there's many right-wing groups who would love that and there's no question that if he did a similar undercover sting you would come up with people saying don't mention that cash income so you can get your free gun and be a sovereign citizen simply expressing your right to bear arms it just so happens that it's Obama Care now further we have to see the full video because there's no question that the video has been absolutely cut and sliced up and there are calls from the urban league to release the full thing because Louis we often have situations were context wouldn't make a difference but here context might because imagine if right after this navigator says you live because your premiums will be higher she might have said you live because your premiums will be higher I understand but that is against the law so you should really not do that right there actually this is added in such a way that we don't know what's there right *** it could be very misleading in this happens all the time with different documentaries in and segments so are we ever going to see the pope which I doubt it but and wooded at the same time with a surprise me a bit somebody's navigators are trying to help people save money on their premiums now but that he would be nice to see before context
