Hi this Jamie with FOSDP and we are live here in Beverly Hills
California at the 43rd Annual NAACP Luncheon. Did you know that
The NAACP organization is the oldest and largest civil rights
Organization and we are so excited to be here today
Stay Tuned
Hi this Jamie Baker with FOSDP and I can't believe I am just so excited today
I'm with one of my favorite actresses Anika Noni Rose. [Anika-Thank you] I have Chills for anybody that has a dream
Keep going, because it can happen for you. My biggest
Question for you is what do you value most about what you do? Because so many
People look up to you. You're such a phenomenal actress. What do you value most about what you
Do
I value the ability to touch people
I value the ability to move people
So that they look at themselves
And maybe they see something similar in that character
Maybe they don't, maybe they see something that they want to aspire to in
A character maybe they see something that makes them hopeful, makes them
Realize the path that is not the right path or a good path
For them
To be able to touch people, to move them
Uh... is the most amazing
Thing about what I do
When you sit back at home and you reflect
What makes you smile about your career thus far? [Jamie-One thing]
One thing that makes me smile greatly is
The children of this generation who will grow up
With Princess Tiana as their
Princess not just the black children, but the little Asian babies who were in their Princess Tiana
Gowns little
Blonde kids walking down the streets of New York in Princess Tiana gowns they want to
Be Princess Tiana and it does not matter a whit to them
What she looks like it's about who she is and that in itself makes
Young little black girls their values so much higher because
Their peers look at them and see them
And see in them royalty
they see in them
The ability to be
Or the fact that they are something special
That's wonderful [Jamie- You made my day. Blessings and favor over your life.]
