Hi, it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we’re going to show you how to change a surface
element on your range. It’s a really easy job, no tools required. But we want to show
you a couple of tips. Let me show you how we do it.
Now the first thing we need to do before we begin this repair is to make sure the surface
elements are turned off and that they’re cool to touch.
Now we’ll simply push towards the terminal end of the element, lift up on the rear of
it, and pull it straight out.
Now at this point we should look at the terminals and make sure that there’s no sign of discoloration
or arching or overheating; if that’s evident we will need to replace the terminal block
as well.
Next we’ll take the element, line it up, push it straight in, and then make sure the
tip of the burner frame fits in the slot in the burner bowl. And our repair is complete.
