South Macarthur Coc 2011 Ntltc High School Drama

Most LTC Dramas are happy and fun, but ours is what we like to think of, a Christian's day to day life. We know that not everyone goes through this, but the reality is that it does happen. I was inspired to write this drama and we all felt that it needed to be shared. Since signing is so close to our hearts, we decided to do a drama that caters directly to the deaf and have interpreters for the hearing. We have several scene changes and we ask that you hold your applause till all actors are off the stage. We hope you enjoy it and we hope you get something out of it. [indistinct conversations in the city] [coughing] >>Help. Help me. Please, someone help me. Mam, please help me. Sir please, it hurts so bad. >>What's wrong? What happened? >>I don't know. Just please get me out of here. >>Well, among other small things that will heal over time, there's something very serious I need to tell you. Your kidneys are failing. >>What does that mean? Will I be alright? >>Normally, we are able to treat it and continue treating it, but at this point, you've ignored this very serious problem for far too long. You aren't filtering anything that goes into your body. I assume you drink? >>Yeah. >>Right, well I've seen you've had alcohol within the last twenty-four hours. Your kidneys have stopped filtering for a few days. >>What does that mean? Tell me whats going to happen to me. >>Well, you only have an 80% chance of living another 24 hours. >>I knew it was only a matter of time. People like me don't last that long. Well, thanks doc. See ya, never. >>You know, it's not too late. You have a chance of surviving. Maybe if we pray together, God will... >>[cutting him off] No, it is too late for me. It's been too late for a long time. No one can help me now. >>God can. If you just give Him a chance, He can do amazing things and help. >>If there was a God who cares as much as you say, I wouldn't be like this. Alcohol was and is my only friend. It numbs you, lets you forget who you are, and where you come from. >>How did you get this way? >>Life happened. The life of a little girl who grew up way too fast. A little girl who had to where long sleeves and pants to hide bruises. Alcohol was and is my only friend. It numbs you, lets you forget where you come from, and who you are. And now it has turned against me too. I'm being killed by my only friend. >>I'm sorry. No one should have to go through that. But you can overcome all that. With the help of God, you can be a new woman and forget all of that. >>STOP. If there was a God, who cares as much as you say, I wouldn't be like this. [coughing]There is no God. [Heart Rate Monitor beeping] [beeping speeding up] [HRM flatlining] >>I've never seen you like this. You look awful. Your clothes are dirty, your hair's a mess, and frankly, you stink. You look so sad, like nothing matters anymore. You were always the most positive person I've ever met, but now, you're sucking the joy out of me. >>Well, this is what happens when you lose your faith. >>Lose your faith? Stephen, don't tell me this is about that girl you tried to help. Not everyone will let God in their hearts. It's not your fault. You did what you could. >>God? I'm not sure there is a God. How can there be one, when there's people like her in the world? >>Bad things happen. That doesn't mean God isn't there. He's coming soon. You have to be ready. >>I don't want to talk about this anymore. I don't want to talk about anything anymore. I'm going home. >>I'm worried about you, so I'm going to pray for you. >>There can't be a God. >>Don't let him hurt himself. Please God, please. >>It's not possible, when there's people like her. >>Bring him back to. Please God. >>He couldn't let that happen. >>I'm scared, Lord. >>If there was a God, he would've stopped it. >>I don't know what he's gonna do. >>WHY DIDN'T YOU HELP HER? >>HE HAS NO FAITH ANYMORE! >>IF YOU'RE REALLY THERE, YOU COULD'VE STOPPED IT! >>ALL HE SEES IS BAD! >>ARE YOU REALLY THERE? >>PLEASE GOD, PLEASE HELP HIM! >>Of course you're not. >>I don't know what he's gonna do. >>There's too much evil in the world. >>He was so upset. >>What's the point of living, if you're not real? >>Please God, please. >>What's the point of seeing so much suffering? >>PLEASE HELP HIM! >>ARE YOU THERE, OR NOT? >>Hurry Lord, I know you're coming.
