>>SARAYUT "GIN" SATHAVORNMANEE: I came to Mizzou from Thailand where I received my undergraduate
degree in business administration from Chulalongkorn University. I did work for two years in my
father's business before I decided to apply for my MBA. The main reason I came here was
to help my father expand his business internationally. I wanted to practice my English and learn
as much as I could. When I first talked to a student here I had a very difficult time
understanding their expressions, and they had a hard time trying to understand me too.
So I would talk to professors all the time especially to make sure I understood assignments
since school here is so much different from school in Thailand. The faculty here is so
good and the classes here have really helped me learn the skills I need to be successful
in my career. To learn about American culture I joined an MBA association which has happy
hours every Thursday. I would go every time, just like class, and stay until I was one
of the last people there. I have met students from Greece, India, Taiwan, Korea, Japan,
China, and the Bahamas. I not only know how to do business with Americans but also different
people all over the world. This is a great opportunity for me.
