Defiant teenagers can be difficult if you personalize their defiance and think that
they're just being defiant towards you. But in reality a defiant teenager it has to do
with them not liking themselves, they're not liking their life and them trying to take
control of things. So probably the best thing you need to try to do is understand what they're
doing and try to figure out what they don't like to do and what they do like to do, but
more than anything else in dealing with defiants and a lot of other adolescent problems is
just develop that relationship with them. to where they trust you when you tell them
some things. Where they don't feel like you're always trying to control them or you're trying
to develop a healthy relationship with them, that's not all about you having your way it's
sometimes about letting them have their way, some give and take there. But a child will
be defiant when they feel like they are out of control, help them feel like they have
control of their life and you do that a lot by just having a good healthy relationship
with them.
