Recently when a young friend committed suicide, I had to admit that most of the time in life
we have more questions than we do answers.
Among all the healthy children born in the world why was our child born with Down Syndrome?
Why did the tornado destroy the school and
miss the *** store a block away?
Why is it that I suffer when I have sought to be so faithful to God?
And the overarching question in my friend’s
suicide: Why this kind of death?
It’s true, isn’t it? Our questions outnumber our answers.
How do we respond? Tell God how you feel.
It will remind you that God is near enough to hear and feel with you…even to hear
your complaints. In sharing honestly with God how we feel, we unburden our spirit and
we express our trust in God.
This is my word of hope. I’m Maxie Dunnam and I believe in Memphis.
