Hello. I'm Jim Glover that Branding guy for Once a Day Marketing. Today we're
looking at the importance
at choosing the words for your marketing message
wisely. The old adage that picture is worth
a thousand words is so true today given smart phones and digital cameras
and social media sites like YouTube, Instagram,
Vine, Facebook, Snapchat and others. More more we see
photos and videos being used to brand and market a product or service.
But this emerging trend doesn't diminish the importance
and power of words. In our opinion using the right words can create
interest and compel your customers to purchase your product.
Well-written copy can also create favorable impressions
on your brand especially given how many other brands
choose to use slang, abbreviations and acronyms
in their marketing and social media content.
What prompted this blog is a video we saw
recently on YouTube call The Power of Words.
A blind man is soliciting money on the street with a sign that reads:
I'm blind, please help. He's not getting much attention from the people passing
by.
A woman reads the sign and changes his wording,
Suddenly more more people are giving
to the blind man. The new message now reads:
It's a beautiful day and i cant see it.
As The Power of Words video so aptly demonstrates
it's important to choose your wording wisely.
As you develop your branding and marketing copy remember the blind man
and make sure you always share the most compelling
wording. Once a Day Marking positions brands to become number one in the minds
of target customers.
