Hey everyone, Jason here, today I'm going to show show you another alternate set model which I designed.
This time using the parts from this set,
75002 AT-RT.
It's a pretty cool set, comes with the walker
destroyer droid and a few minifigs. There's a lot of cool small pieces in this set,
with clips and hinges and such, ah, so there is a lot you can do with it.
So this model I decided to build a microscale
research colony playset, and here we have a research station
mobile outpost, transport vehicle, scout rover
and a dropship. I've incorporated a few play features
into this set, we'll start with the dropship,
take a look at it. So as you can see I used some of these bracket pieces
ah, to expose some studs on the side of it, which makes it really easy to hold onto
for swooshing it around.
I've also added clips for all the wings so you can angle them, and you can also angle the cockpit,
and that way when you're doing your flight maneuvers you can have a lot of fun
positioning the wings depending on
what kind of maneuvers you're doing. As you would expect of a drop ship it can carry and deploy cargo.
There are a couple of studs exposed on the top of each of the vehicles and the mobile outpost,
and as the dropship comes swooshing in, you can just
press it onto the top of those studs, and then it can
basically pick up some cargo and fly around with it.
For deploying cargo I designed a hole
in the fuselage here and if we take
this axle from the set and stick it through there,
then you can just press the axle and it will drop
your cargo on ground, and the same thing can be done
with either of the vehicles or even the mobile outpost.
Come swooshing in here, pick it up, fly around with it,
and again just press the axle to
deploy it. I even had enough parts left over to build a nice little stand
for the dropship so can put him away there.
The vehicles can also be docked with the research station if you're coming in for the night,
and with the mobile outpost as well, although they don't clip in
the same way as with the research station. I have created step-by-step building
instructions for all these models,
which you can find on my website at truedimensions.com
I'll put a link in the description and at the end of the video. If you have suggestions
for other sets you'd like me to try and build alternate models for,
feel free to leave a comment.
I had a lot of fun building this one and playing with it too. Hope you enjoyed the video
keep on building and we'll see you next time.
